You might find people will buy old singing logs but I doubt they will pay that much for them. Beetles are easy to get, all you have to do is dig up grubs and wait a few days. Grubs are actually more rare. Salamanders are worth quite a lot, I think I saw them priced at 100s on a stall. Be careful you don't get scammed though. Have a look in the trade forum to get an idea of the market. as a new player your best bet is to find snake skins in stumps and sell them to the NPC stalls, then hunt rabbits and sell their hides. Once you have a claim and can farm cotton it is easy to make enough to pay your upkeep. Selling to other players has its risks.
