incoming: all you need to be able to curse someone is a description given by someone to you.

They'll have to find us first!
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Maybe all a witch needs is your forum name?! Perhaps everybody should use forum alts just in case as well.

In the essence of bringing the server back up. Bleed fix is being rolled back. It will still persist through death until we can push a better fix.

For all you people worrying about getting witchified, I've heard some rumors. Now, this is all hearsay, but from what I gather it works as follows :

Player acquires a blasphemous effigy of the witch we burnt at the stake in his majesty's name, either from the kind goat farmer, or from a player that has gotten a chance to inspect such an effigy closely and would be kind enough to make a copy for someone.

Player makes dollies and starts doing an evil satanic dance at a distance of 7 tiles away from their target, in an attempt to attune the doll to the victim. The dance takes quite a bit to complete, and any movement on the part of the target will make the witch lose their mood for dancing. So in that sense, you don't need to only use alts in providence, as much as you need to always keep moving. Please note that the rumours didn't state how long all the dolls took to attune, so perhaps one of them is instant, an eventuality that might warrant extra care in the form of only bringing alts to town after all :(

As for being able to kill you anywhere in the world, I assume that once someone has been targetted, and has had a doll successfully attuned to them, can die at any point from then on if the circumstances are right.

Also, judging by the numerous scents in providence, I'm going to go ahead and say that it's likely that evil evil unghastly dance leaves scents, with evidence attached, which should make curious minds think twice before dabbling in such nonsense.
Exactly 6.022 x 10^23 worth of Lach molecules.
