Hi Idmanfred.

You may see things like this :
- I have been killed, by a moron, while I was peacefully afk.
- I lost all of these hours learning the game
- I lost all of these hours leveling my character
- I did nothing in this game but lose my time.

You may want to review your opinion and start to think like this :
- I've been killed by someone, now I know how to avoid that
- I learnt the game already, it'll be easier now
- I already know how to level a char
- I just took a huge step forward in this game.


Now, Darwoth you should be ashamed to troll the help section. It's not allowed.
However, Idmanfred, you have been given a few hints on what NOT to reproduce on the future.
1) Explore a large area around the place you settle. Being near a town is not a good idea.
=> you obviously were close to Trinsic, which is Darwoth's town.
2) Do not afk, never, ever. Not even in Providence. Just don't.
=> you were afk at the exact same time Darwoth was wandering around, and this kind of **** actually happens quite a lot. Just clic "switch characters" in the option menu and come back when you're back. Afking in Providence is as dangerous because people might bring bears or stuff in town and you could be ko'd and lose your inventory and your clothes.
3) Learn from your mistakes.
=> This adage has never been so true than in this game. Making a mistake is not the end. It's the begining. And dying... Dying for the first time is just proving that you're now a Salem player and not a random clueless noob.

If you decide to not quit, set up a Homestead Secret (HS) with your new character, and send me a PM telling me what it is. I'll then kin you in game and you'll be able to ask me whatever advices you'd need.
If you quit then, have fun somewhere else.

Another thing besides not going AFK: be very aware of the mini map at all times, most importantly for other players, but also for hostile animals. If you see people coming and you don't feel safe for whatever reason, log out. For the moment, that assures your safety, although this will likely change in the future since it's a little too easy. You can also buy your time to do stuff or escape by abandoning your inventory, and teleporting.

A character you care about saving is one worth more than an inventory.

And a base, well, sometimes that's a total loss. If a guy is gonna get in and kill you regardless of your fence and claim and brazier, get out BEFORE he can, and port to Boston.

Scents can, and will get you killed too. So be smart in that regard.

Yes, I have understood how it works and the precautions one hand I feel very bad about losing effort invested but you learn over time, rookie mistake quite expensive has left me but now I've calmed down a bit after what I lost my character so I will continue with morgana, I just might have definitely changed unto the tools and the money to start again.

PS. Good man for sticking it out. Salem is a tough mistress, but if you stay with her long enough you learn to love the pain.

I don't know about the insatiable part, but Cheena isn't a newb ganker. But yes, you should never have a HS set if your homestead is set to a claim.
