I only wanted clarification as to your side of the argument before I attempted to debate it, as I was unsure as to exactly your side was. Now that that's out of the way... let's counter some common fears about Ebola.

Darwoth wrote:there is a highly contagious disease that kills most of the ***** people it infect and it has already infected thousands.

Ebola is a very deadly disease, with a mortality rating of 72% in the newest epidemic in Africa. Though it doesn't diminish the threat of the disease (if you were to catch it), it should be noted that the mortality rate in first world countries is much lower.

However, as to your note on how contagious the disease is: yes, it's easier to catch than AIDS, but let's take a note from good ole common sense here. Despite the fact that many African countries are poverty stricken, and despite their high population count and density, the relative number of people who have been diagnosed with the disease is remarkably low.

“This is not influenza or measles,” says Paul Offit, the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “It’s not spread by the respiratory route. If you’re sitting next to someone on a plane, you’re not going to catch it. People should take note of the fact that Duncan’s family never got sick.”

Please note that this good fellow is much more qualified to make calls in regards to this than you are, Darwoth... and probably about anything else, actually. For reference, Duncan was the American who was flown back to America from Africa. The only other victims were medical professionals working on the guy, and I highly doubt they were the only two. Funnily enough, only those two got it! Which is remarkable considering how long Duncan was being treated.

Tragic, yes, but for comparison, the Flu had killed over 53,667 Americans in 2010. Funny how nobody cried quarantine of Hawaii when infections were reported there, or Alaska. But since many from Texas are so worried about the contagion spreading, how about we ban all air flight from Texas? Maybe cut off the highways and blow up the rails, too. Sure, there's other ways out of Texas, but for the good of the country, as long as it lowers the chance, it's totally worth it ¦] . (Yes, I'm being sarcastic here).

As for the rest of your argument, even disregarding things for a perspective of someone with a conscious and everything I've said above, here's the counter to it:

Or they (refugees seeking treatment for Ebola) may even go to a slightly better but still ****** country such as Russia (legitimately or not). Imagine what would happen if there was an outbreak there? Or even worse, they could use a 'backdoor' to get into the US or other modern countries such as through Mexico or down from Canada. Then you've got a bunch of people entering the country who may have Ebola that wouldn't even be on record! Most of these people would be disappearing into the poorer parts of the country, crowded cities and suburban ***** where the infection could spread much easier.

Take a good hard look before skimming through it in rage mode, my good sir, because it's something that you don't want to hear.

And just because I'm in a trollish mood, here's a list of things far more likely to kill people than Ebola:

Getting in a car accident while trying to evacuate from somewhere due to a contained report of Ebola.
Getting killed in an airline accident when evacuating from somewhere with a reported case of Ebola.
Getting shot by a racist police officer because you're originally from the same countries that Ebola outbreaks are in.
Getting killed by a member of ISIS who's purposely contracted a case of the flu, a much more effective contagion than Ebola.
Getting killed by Darwoth during his inevitable murdering spree when he targets people with suspected cases of Ebola.
Any number of stress related illnesses after reading about all the headlines about Ebola.
Former Vice President ***** Cheney while out hunting. (lol, I love the profanity filter sometimes)

Oh, and just to piss off everyone here who I haven't pissed off already, here's the number one thing thousands of times more likely to kill you than Ebola ¦] :

probably not. I don't get much exposure to international travellers or even 2nd or 3rd hand contact. that's a downside (upside?) of being poor and living on the internet.

furthermore, the mid 90s case had like 500 total cases with a lower mortality rate, there are already over 10,000 documented cases and the fatality rate is above 70%. that is because in 1996 a bunch of god damn "misunderstood youths" did not loot the ***** hospitals.

I certainly don't disagree with you. It's going to be horrible this time. How many cases have been reported outside Africa, though? then there's news like this: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29685127

From my education, I can say these speculation:
The reason why Ebola is much more dangerous than the diseases you noted above is because those virus know us well.
Ebola is not native to human; in other words, they don't know us. Any smart virus keeps their host alive. The fact that Ebola have a mortality rate of more than 70 percent means that it originated from other animal. We need to destroy the source first.
As history has shown, after the virus get to know us, ie after x circles of infection, the mortality rate will lower. By that time we will likely have found a vaccine for it.
And see, told you that Liberian guy lied. Sigh...
You thought I quit.

to recap looting mobs attack hospitals when the outbreak was still manageable causing the deaths of thousands.

lets ignore that since it is black folks looting **** and causing problems again.

a disease that spreads on contact with any infected fluid.

lets downplay that and talk about aids.

a disease that kills the majority of its victims.

lets downplay that to since it only kills half of the western victims, no big deal dog.

a disease that takes exactly one person walking through a shopping mall over the weekend to infect hundreds.

lol that would never happen maaaan.

so being infected with a far more serious illness called liberal stupidity we shall instead pontificate about irrelevant ***** and muddy the waters with out of context statistics that have nothing to do with jack **** because you know, 50,000 already dieing elderly and infirm children keeled over from the flu which just totally pertains to ebola

go away kid, your annoying.

You know, for the longest time I've been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I ask you this in all honesty: are you an idiot?

Darwoth wrote:... Yes.

Well, if that's the case, it might be best just to quarantine you. Idiocy spreads faster than any virus, and is almost just as dangerous.

Win what? This isn't some game like Salem where consequences of actions really have no baring on the real world.

Lord, the most horrifying thing is that I believe that you're taking yourself seriously, too. Your ego is so large that no matter what first thought you have is to solve anything, one that comes completely from the gut and not from the mind, one that is based on prejudice, negative emotion, selfishness, misinformation, assumption, fact filtering, and fear, and no matter how foolish, reactionary, and potentially damaging it can be, you'll fight it to the death like an X-Box 360 fanboy would defending said console if it were home to a swarm of angry wasps.

Point and case: whatever it is that you post next.
