A lot of people, myself included, like to place timber piles at the intersections of fields where they are out of the way. Just be sure to move your compost bins elsewhere if you've been keeping them in your fields.
That's a good point. My next question would have to be "how many spaces do each field occupy?" -- that'll actually give me a better idea of how many fields I'll need to surround the piles.
But also, is there an option to lay down a 'grid'? It said 5 spaces, but I just guesstimated. . . I don't know of any real way to determine 5 spaces.

you can do it like lusewing said, or if you use latikai, press ctrl + L for the terrain tool... very useful.
Awesome. I do use Latikai, so I'll give that a shot.

Thanks.

Signposts no longer work?? I guess I don't understand ?
Lusewing wrote:I use piles of wood to work out spaces. Just pop up the build option and it will give you the 'ghost' of the build, which snaps to the grid. You can then use this ghost to count the grid squares by moving it along the ground.
+1 to this. Thank you. That should work out great. But as the other person said, I'll try to built-in tool in my custom client. Sweet.

Thanks all of you.
