We are still going back and forth on what else we will be giving to both weaving and cooking.

I'd just go with doubling up proficiencies with artifice. Make it a geometric average of the two or something. But then we'd need civilian artifice for every proficiency that has an effect on something. Hm, not sure if that would be good or bad.

Thought about it. But robs the civilian artifice design space. I mean why even call them civilian names at all? Why not let you just socket +PROF into your clothing at that point.
