Aggro

So most of the time I'm able to kill wabbits and cwickets easily. . . but every now and then, one of them gets the better of me and I find myself running away from the inevitable. It seems nothing I do will de-aggro the animal. Is there a way to get out of combat once entered?

Best way I've found is to run into a house and to click the cross swords next to the animals portrait (top right) so it shows an olive branch. Otherwise just run till the animal is off your map square (still making sure to click the cross swords) and it de-aggros.

Do the following, if one fails check the first step, go over in your mind what you did with the steps in mind, and then repeat.

  1. Keep away from the attacking NPC.
  2. Continue at a non-bile-draining pace. (Walking.)
  3. Click the two swords icon until it shows one sword and one olive branch.
  4. Look for an obstacle the attacking NPC can not cross/enter. (This being a body of water, that you can swim over, an enclosed fence with a gate, and/or a building.
  5. Avoid becoming knocked out.

Keep in mind if passing a body of water you should do it where there are no close crossings of said river near by. Use your map as an example of what body of water to cross. If it is open near by then avoid it. Walking into an enclosed fence will simply stop the attacking NPC but will not un-aggravate you. The quickest way is to duck into the nearest building. The NPC tends to un-aggravate relatively quickly in this regard.

The only NPC that will not go into water are timber-rattlers. Hopefully John will make it possible for them to pass bodies of water to make more tears possible.

LOL. . . make more tears possible. . +1 that. :)

And thank you, again, for your excellent responses. You're very much appreciated, sir!
