Sure, if somebody wants to infiltrate your town what better way to prove his loyalty or 'get your moneys worth' than sticking them on some grunt work for awhile?

I was also thinking of sex-slaves but I don't think you will implement that. Nobody ever implements them for some reason.

While you likely will want to give them some directed grunt work, chop trees, move boulders, flatten ground, ect, many rare drops can be gotten while doing other productive noob things, picking acorns to fill fish traps will get you quite a few majestic acorns, hunting crickets and rabbits will yield long ears, antlers, pocketwatches, and violins, they can also notify the hunters when they stumble across a bear near the town, greatly reducing the amount of time more experienced players have to spend out hunting for them, and many other things to show that they are contributing, and many other basic things that most noobs wont mind doing that more experienced players probably wont want to do. Also if you reward them with things that are easy for experienced players to make but harder for noobs to get a hold of when they bring back valuable items it will help them feel that the relationship is mutually beneficial and not you just exploiting them for labor.

Actually we do something similar to that. We do something based on a caste system, differing in a player's ability, to dictate use. New recruits have always done labor intensive work, for an entire three to six months, similar to what you said, but we force them to feed themselves on non-supported property. Adds to their ability to root out thieves. If they fail we simply kill a ratio of 1:3 after lining them up. The loyal ones stay. We do a psychological reward system in that regard, with little material gain; insures loyalty and roots out possible spies.

Having them as sex-slaves was simply wishful thinking on my part. :lol:
