The trouble is that people think you are lying because this just doesn't happen. You see, there is a situation where someone who is way out in the wilderness with an inventory full of awesome loot from a claim they just robbed could log out, have a stone put where they were standing and when they log in again, they get teleported home. IF they were allowed to keep that inventory, that gets around the 'no porting with inventory unless you are in boston or at home' rule. So, if you log out somewhere and that somewhere gets blocked, you have to lose your inventory to go home.
This doesn't happen very often. Mostly, it happens with gates and claimstones because both have a hitbox, you're just allowed to walk through it. If you were next to your fireplace lighting a fire when it happened that should not have caused this problem, but if it did then logging in would have dropped your things on the ground, not deleted them. Inventory does not get 'wiped'. Since your fireplace was two steps from your claim, you should have been able to simply walk over there and pick your stuff back up.
Several people have told you this by now so your continued insistence that you got 'wiped' is not going to meet with continued polite replies.
See, but therein lies the problem where I'm not lying. I didn't just 'die' out in the wilderness. The server crapped out, didn't 'log' my location, so it wiped my inventory. The message came up in a little box and said the server 'couldn't' or 'didn't' or whatever, log my location. That's not my issue, that's server-side.
I'm not just saying this to hear myself talk or to justify why I lost things out in the woods. I wasn't in the woods, I was right by my claimstone, and my stuff was not there. . . . the stuff wouldn't BE there anyway, because the game did NOT know my location. . . that's what the message said. It said it didn't know where I was, so it spawned me at the claimstone and wiped my inventory, as it would "have" to since it was essentially "TP'ing" me from "somewhere" to my claimstone.
I haven't received too many polite replies, so I can't really expect much else from people that just flat-out think I'm lying. I'm not, so it really doesn't matter what you guys think. The problem here is with their server and they need to be aware of this potentially game-ending 'bug' that may not have ever happened before, but it did happen.
Say I was a "paying player," and a veteran. Would the devs, like the one earlier, just call me a liar when I asked for compensation for lost items due to a server issue? I don't know, because I'm not that player, but if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. And oddly enough, I was logged into two different accounts, both crapped out at the same time, but only the one account "forgot" its location. So I don't know what's going on. But instead of everyone passing judgment on me, calling me a liar, and blaming the issue on me, they should be saying "wth?" And the devs should go check out the logs for this account at the time their servers went down yesterday. That's what should be happening.
So I'm just going to leave it at this. And if everyone keeps wanting to call me a liar, I hope it happens to them when they have a few hundred silver in their inventory. Ya' never know when it'll happen, but I certainly hope a veteran has to deal with this issue as well so that you guys will see that I'm not making this
**** up. It makes no sense for me to just concoct this story when I'm not asking for any compensation whatsoever. None. I've already replaced the things I think I lost so I'm not worried about it. But if it happens again, I hope some big-paying player loses a bunch of crap so that maybe, just maybe, I won't get a snarky, wave-of-the-hand remark from a dev that knows every error message off the top of his head.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Don't start breaking forum rules just because you don't understand the explanation you've been given several times now for what happened. There is no bug, your inventory wasn't wiped, don't dodge the profanity filter.
