I agree 30 minutes is FAR too long of a wait, the Argopelter should just murder you immediately. ¦]

If we are to have Gaming and gambling, how about a lottery as a silver sink?

They were relatively common in colonial america as a means of generating money, and the temptation of throwing a few silver and potentially getting loads of money will get people to willingly spend their silver. And they might even Win!

To fill the gap implicitly trusted traders could conduct their own lotteries as fund raising things, with them keeping some portion of the proceeds, and giving the winner a payout. Of course, Caveat Emperator for buyers of "lottery tickets". ¦]

There is only 2 options leading to KO by argopelter:
1) technical issue (client crash, problems with internet connection, etc.)
2) you're retarded

Also you usally won't see much players such far away from boston.

You are the expert on this not me.

I guess no one picked up on the "receiving prizes" from taking on mystic monsters bit

The select group of players comment I made was aimed at your "testing new monsters" suggestion, it would not affect the main server in any way I reckon. (At your previous comment.)

Most players won't really be into the arena kinda thing you're proposing. Salem is more of a survival/crafting game. Not a "fight monsters in total safety for prizes" kind of game.

Unfortunately I must agree that Salem has been period specific in its implementation so mystic monsters is pushing the boundaries. But some prizes are worth trying for such as the rare items drops and expensive items like rolling pins.

Why should rare drops be handed out in a safe arena? What's the point of dangerous monsters if that element of danger is taken out? I'd much rather see these time-appropriate mythical monsters in deep darkness. A place where the bold might go to fight the most dangerous PVE elements of the game.

Getting back to topic, the arena is ment to be entertainment for spectators. Paticipants should have some rewards when taking on difficult tasks.

I could possibly see the point in this arena if extremely strong versions of bears or other monsters were used AND they had the ability to murder. It wouldn't be a challenge if all of the danger is removed like you are suggesting.
