Ok I'll attempt to make the first intelligent posting in this topic. Jackxter you would be advised to simply not feed the trolls that initially responded, it only drags the thread down.
That said, this is not a good idea for several reasons. First my character in the game is my avatar, when you start creating an avatar of an avatar it breaks what little immersion might be left in the game. Second a structure (unless its made of rare drops and lard

) is vastly cheaper then even a basic throw away combat character so the idea of a character factory building immediately comes off as a desire for 'easy' characters. I'm sure you have all kinds of intent to 'balance' said building and all that but I don't see why developers should create a second way to make an alt when we already have the 'new character' button. Lastly your premise of putting the original character 'on the hook' by leaving scents that track back to them is trivially circumvented by just using a 5/5/5/5 alt to enter the Barracks, now it essentially becomes a disposable weapon which is also free, a very dangerous thing.
Your core idea seems to be, a building that helps you defensively IF it is paired with your character. That is a solid idea for encouraging defenders to stay online. Perhaps it could just be a outright fortification, you get into some kind of 'parapet' and can fire weapons at great distance while being protected.
