claim decay

Postby oneal420 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 3:29 am

just a idea, but if town claims can decay without any upkeep, then why can't personal claims?
I think this could free up any areas from players who quit, leaving it open for looting, and also make it really easy too repair so it isn't a big hassle for active players.

Something like repair the claim with 2clay and 2 lime or rocks every 2 or 3 weeks, and possibly ad a decaying graphic that changes every week so it is easy to tell if it needs repaired or not.

Personal claim upkeep or decay has come up before. Not a bad idea, but you should check older threads to see what has been discussed before. (A few ideas about it have been tossed around.)

This isn't the only place with ideas and suggestions. You should check out what all is on Paradox Plaza, too. The forums existed there for nearly six months.

I fully agree with the OP's idea. When the server starts to age, all locations of worth will have old abandoned claims on them.

Better idea would be to just make it possible to sell claims to people. You can mark a claim as "sellable" and someone who is next to it can buy it for the amount listed. If a claim isn't visited in a period of time, it automatically goes "on sale" as abandoned property and the amount goes into that person's bank account.

I dunno, 2-4 rocks a week to keep a claim alive seems reasonable. 4 weeks inactivity removes the claim.

However, I will say something. With multiple claims allowed and no reason to remove claims people are already leaving a string of abandoned claims. The option to regain 50% of the silver value of a claim from declaiming might not be a bad thing.

Should be silver, just like a town with cost proportional to size.

would be really nice to be like that. maybe a slower need for silver for casual players. anything to keep from having abandoned claims all over the place like hnh
