Boiled morels do not lose all poison

Postby Kandarim » Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:32 pm

So, I just boiled a bunch of morels in my cauldrons, but they haven't lost their poison. I made some shroom patties and after eating half of one, i now lost half my humours and am stuck with almost two hours of shroom debuff. Not fun.

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Morels should not be poisonous in the first place. The only reason you soak them in RL is to remove insect and clean and prep them they are non toxic.

that logic aside (I don't know much about mushrooms) it is definitely a bug that they don't lose their poison.

I thought morels was murklor in swedish and they are really poison.

Toxicity[edit]
Morels contain small amounts of hydrazine[31] toxins that are removed by thorough cooking; morel mushrooms should never be eaten raw.[32] It has been reported that even cooked morels can sometimes cause mild intoxication symptoms when consumed with alcohol.[33]

This is for the swedish ones at least

Cannot replicate. How sure are you that another unboiled shroom wasn't used and you didn't notice?

I'll pay more attention next time and look for sure. But i've had it happen both on shroomfilled bellpeppers and shroom patties on two separate occasions.

It might be because their look doesn't change much when they are boiled (I had to hover over to read mine were boiled) and the issue with pots sometimes not boiling unless you take it off and put it back on.
