Torch post for mines

Postby GrimF4ilure » Thu Sep 25, 2014 2:39 pm

Couldn't see this posted anywhere (or i'm blind) but it would be really handy to have torch posts build-able in mines while emitting a certain radius of light. Especially now a lot of us are digging deeper and deeper into darkness with only fires to light our way.

Would be nice to have some sort of light down there lol. But it would give a huge incentive to store everything in a mine.

Would definitely be a nice thing.

12-24 hours burning time and have to use rags soaked in something to refuel.

Look JC I found the next store item.

Even better would be if this was an artifice or something similar instead of totally separate hat.

(I can't even pretend that I didn't get the idea for having to buy a miner's hat from Terraria)

Just make it a normal torch that gets hung on a wall (we can say that it's wedged in a crack or something), and then just slow down the fuel consumption by a few orders of magnitude when it's on the wall to give the desired burn time. Would also be great for lighting all thouse cracking-fires too. Speaking of which, fire alone won't crack rock, you need to splash the hot rock with water to crack it.

I wouldn't be opposed to just using a nail or 2, wood, and tinder (oil soaked rag sounds good too, lard maybe?) for a wall torch that burns for a while.

I want walls and braziers and torchposts in mines. And I want my leanto down there also.

But even if it was torchposts only, it'd be nice.
