Contact with Turkey's

Postby Herz85 » Tue Sep 23, 2014 4:36 pm

I started with Salem some Days ago and today i finally put my first Claim down. (i also played the Openbeta but Quit after )
So i was planing arround what have to be done to become bigger and all (cutting wood, collect stones , study new skills and this and that) , when suddenly something interrupt my Mind.
I was in front of a Turkey and i thought its probably as strong as a rabbit so i attacked it. ( i already killed a rabbit) and was kinda surprised when the first attack of the Turkey caused 4.00 dmg to me and my blood went down to 60%. It scared me enough to start running away, but this "Thing" was almost as fast as me and just before my Phlegm run out i could save my self to a little hill.
While i was climbing on the Hill the Turkey caused another 4.00 dmg, but i made it.!
I was really happy that i survived this and thought everything is fine and i can just relog and the Turkey is gone ..... yeah i was wrong , after i closed the Client and joined back the Turkey was still there with Aggro on me and when i try to logg out manualy a Message appears that i'm still in fight.

I notice that this Situation becomes bigger than i thought and i really have to acutally use my Brain to solve it.
I decide to create a Alt and let it spawn at my Claim to support me , after i arrived with my alt i saw that the Turkey was always running arround in a Cycle while it trys to jump at me (it really looked offending, it almost looked like a really obsessed Turkey trying to kill me)
So i came up with a Idea to pen-in the Turkey when it was at a certain spot between the hill and a wall with a Tree Log.

Finally i handled this Situation ..... but...... i had no blue bar left and couldn't climb down...... WAH.
Ok at least i was save from this Turkey and i will find another Solution for this.
My first thought was to get some food with my Alt and bring it up to my Main , but i Notice that my Alt couldn't climb at this moment and i didnt know wich skill i have to learn for this (the one that is called Hill climbing was like 2300 Points )
And i didn't want to let my Main Char beeing logged in all the Time without protection if somone else passes by.

Well the End of the Story was ..... a happy end , i had some yellow bar left and found out that i can Stamp attack the Turkey even from this distance, so i could kill it with 3 Stamps , with my last Stamp the Turkey got knocked out and i could log off and level up my Alt until he was able to climb hills and bring some food to my Main Character on the Hill.
This simple attack on a Turkey cost me almost a Hour of Time for a Solution but it was a lot of Fun at the End because i had to Think and find a Solution.

I'm happy i had this "little" meeting because it showed me how i wanna play this Game to enjoy it. First i was going for " get as fast as possible Big and Strong" .But now it's more about take the Game easy and do some Role Play or other Funny things.

My Advice at all , Respect Turkeys

LOL some folks told me if you let it be for 20 minutes the turkey will despawn and you will be free. I recently had a similar contact with a rabbit wherein I ran out of yellow bile to attack him.
good luck dude. really like your essay.
You thought I quit.

Exactly. After you got finally managed to KO the turkey and deaggro, you could've just emptied your inventory and ported back to your homestead. Eat all the food you want and heal and then run back to the little hill where you were stuck before and grab your stuff back, lol... this could've been solved a a lot easier, but still a fun read!

Valuable lesson there too.

Closing your client in combat is not a log out. It'll close your client but your character will still very much be there.
