Do explain what real development is.

Given that they've already added new mechanics, tweaked others and added content.

Try to make outside people play the game and you'll see what i mean.

Can't, I don't know any people who would be interested in this genre, so you'll have to enlighten me

If you mean developing the game to cater to the general public, then that will never happen. JC has stated in the past that he's not going to make this game for the masses.

Try to explain what you mean and we'll see what you mean.

Constructive criticism is only nice, as long as it's actually constructive and well phrased.

Do you perhaps mean the learning curve? That's meant to be that way for the most part, they've already stated that they'll change the basic tutorials at some point, but for now it's in beta so that's a secondary concern. Why write a guide that'll have to change every patch?

Do you mean that noobs get tribed every day? In fact there's probably a statistic that says "A newbie dies ever 2 minutes in Salem, donate now and help stop the suffering." That also is a part of the game, as sad as that is. I agree (god help me, agreeing with the pagans, what have i come to) with the Tribe's logic that it's best to die as a newbie with nothing to lose than as a developped character with a huge base.

Do you mean that it's .. basically ... a watered down roguelike? Cause while permadeath and Salem's general vibe might not appeal to a lot of different types of gamers, that doesn't mean it "needs REAL development" to become a game that farmvillians would play. I'm a carebear and I still appreciate the edge Salem has in its permadeathiness. (yes that's totally a word, shush)

if it's none of the above, then please do explain what you meant by your statement.

de·vel·op
verb \di-ˈvel-əp, dē-\

: to cause (something) to grow or become bigger or more advanced

: to grow or become bigger or more advanced

: to create (something) over a period of time

Perhaps not the word you mean?

Not a single person who plays this game and matters, does so because it was "designed for average people". Face it, your major players here (not just the top ten) tend to be people who excel at mmorpg's. sounds to me your looking for minecraft, probably be more fun to chop down a tree with a baked potato than learn to play Salem eh?

No no. Minecraft is too complicated, he might actually have to google a recipe or *gasp* lose some items when the character gets "killed".

Sweet mother of John Carver wearing a Big Paul's Big Nuts shirt in an Iranian tea shop on a Wednesday asking if they have hemp for sale; never though I'd see another sale go like that within the last five years to less than five share holders.

Now all we need is everyone to push John to make public trading options available for Mortal Movements.
