Nice Flowers

Postby Tamasin » Thu Sep 11, 2014 2:24 pm

I really like flowers and gardening and have a couple of ideas that I think would be fun.

The first one is pretty simple- with beaming-proud sunflowers now being so nice to slot into clothing, it's even less reasonable to decorate the base with them. That really sucks for those of us who prize them for their decorative purposes. In salem, we grow a decent variety of flowers, yet the beaming proud sunflower is the only one that really looks nice to decorate the base with. I'd like that to change. Please either make the flowers we already grow look prettier enough that they can replace beaming prouds as decorations, or make some other nice looking flowers that can more reasonably be used as decorations.

My other idea is for a new kind of flower to garden with. The flower would be an inspirational. It's a lot like other flowers except that there is a chance (maybe about 10%) of the pot of flowers coming out with proficiencies slightly different to the one it was planted from- for example one proficiency has gone and been replaced by another one, or a proficiency has just lost some inspi points which have been given to another one. Or maybe it came out a different colour! Planting the mutated flower results in flowers just like the mutant flower it was planted from and there is still that chance to mutate more. I think the flowers should not really become objectively 'better', just better suited to different peoples purposes; for example I might grow flowers that give lots of sugar and spice and almost nothing in other profs, and someone else might prefer a more well-rounded flower. I think it would be fun to work towards our own ideal flowers, and fun to look whether the flowers mutated when its time to harvest.

Yeah, roses suck especially. Can't we have something that looks like a real rose bush? Speaking of bushes, it'd be really nice to have a wider variety for decorative purposes.

As for the second part, tulips sound like a perfect match. We could have a whole market in rare tulip bulbs and their price would explode and everyone would get rich, and I'm sure nothing bad would happen ;)

I agree :) (doesn't happen too often that i agree with potjeh :p)

Tulips where a big thing in the old days, made some people very rich, but in the end some extremely poor with only their bulbs left !

I wonder how many people will get this.
Not enough, I'm afraid :(
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

or, you know, anyone with the tiniest background in western europe/any form of economics.

On topic: it hurt my heart to slot my beaming proud sunflowers into my clothing. They were just too nice to ignore them and not slot them into my founding fathers coat at the time, though. i miss them :(

I know how you feel. I gave one as a gift and it makes me proud to think of it. I would love to see another in this life, or a tulip. (and yes, I did study economic history back in the day).
