He meant, concerned about getting town membership on an alt, as a hermit which is the mayor of his town claim, with the premise that there'd be no multi-accounting. I.E. can't attune keys to your future alt that inherits anything, can't invite him to town without both being only, can't have compacts if it's a fresh alt.

You don't need multiple accounts to put multiple characters in the same town.

Without both being online, that's what he said. If you want to have a mayor and "citizens" on same account, you need multiple accounts or you need someone else to invite your "citizens", but "having someone" is not his case.

Since in the end JC did confirm multiple accounts are okay to have, barring weird attempts at scamming devs for item restores, I see no point in pursuing the "what if" argument for argument's sake. The solution has now again become, just have an alt account.

Ah, I see, interesting argument. But no, I have no intention of changing rules or implementing mechanics to accommodate players who are unable to utilize a single friend for a 5 minute period to help them with town permissions etc. If you cannot make or find a single friend to assist in this regard, then you quite frankly do not deserve a 'town' in the first place.

Well I only have a town claim because it's better than a personal claim.

Yes, I do see this being less of an issue after the PVP patch. It never felt right to me that hermits had an advantage to maintaining a town for simply themselves.
