That's not true. Not every non-established trader sells scented goods.

Anyway, I'm just curios when did we go from this:

Quite the contrary, Gold is actually one of the most reliable renewable resources in the game now. Anybody who assumes we are making decisions first on how it will effect our income, and secondly on how it will effect the game, is seriously underestimating our passion for the project.

to "Let's make EVERYTHING require silver!" Well, glass rather than silver, but the new devs have been reluctant to talk about crafting your own glass rather than buying it, which was something that was in the pipeline back in Seatribe days. I think the game is heading in a dangerous direction here, and I fear that when the price of silver in the cash shop drops drastically (which I'm confident it will), it'll go full blown P2W.

Also, LOL @ reliable gold

You havn't even seen all the new vendor/only silver sinks we just added in the game.

Silver is nowhere near the most popular store item since we took over. If it ever becomes a 'requirement' then we will certainly just consider removing it from the store. However, we do have plans for every industry and every profession to have a use for silver sinks to ensure that the currency remains valuable. This is mostly in anticipation for a very different free market where goods flow quite readily from the Seaside Market of stalls. This is also due to the fact that the stalls are also coming with a pretty interesting political twist that will financially encourage players and organizations to head up the 'largest' factions. In the future, it will be entirely possible for a faction to make ALL of its silver simply through his Majesty Tax Rebate Program.

For better or worse we find the economics of Salem interesting, and will be dabbling around with the rate and way silver enters and leaves the market quite frequently.

Also, I'm sure the players with Golden Geese will confirm for you that gold is about as steady as anything gets in Salem. Our little goal with Gold is to see if we can always have the bars more valuable as a crafting mat than they are for theri stall price.

Also the average daily active player in Salem appears to be making 909 silver/day. I'm quite convinced its still too easy but hate to nerf silver before we get the stalls in and see how it balances out with all the stall taxes and trading etc.

Sadly enough our lovely community is a bit like the CIA. They can neither confirm or deny anything regarding rare items, be it bugs that can be exploited to hoard said rare items, or simply methods of obtaining the rare items for common use. The geese has been more hush hush than NSA wiretapping.

I'm sure the players in possession simply realize the heat and unwelcomed attention owning such a creature brings.
