Are you saying your debating between fix'd size mines that are built outside of houses, and a similar compartment that is accessed H&H style through an add on floor hatch inside a house?

If you go with the former then it would seem a simple matter to use a different wall texture (dirt), a different surface opening graphic and just call it a Root-cellar or something and, but if theirs no limit on how close they can be to each other most of us would just living in them as hobbits. Cellars are a bit more self-limiting because of the requirement to have a structure first and that might go a long way to avoiding excessive numbers of them.

I want a "tunnel into the enemy base" feature, just like HnH. Theres always idiots leaving their mine entrances unsecured. Or you could tunnel into the cellar, BOOM, you're inside the enemies vault.
