Naming Storage items

It would be nice to give names to chests, Sheds, etc.
Those names could also be visible on mouse over [possible to switch on and off]
Names only available to characters belonging to the claim.

I hope to get a better structure in a shared storage system.

I like this idea, it would help sort items, as some people really need help with that.

It'd be nice to be able to tag boxes in a way that's visible at a glance. I don't think a tooltip will accomplish that. A sign pretty much does the same thing just from a bit closer.
Signs with text visible have been suggested but that would mean significant reworking of the rendering, not easy to do.
A tooltip on objects might be more doable but probably still quite a bit of work. I reckon the answer will be something along the lines of "Just organise better."

How about adding paint to visibly paint (part of) the box into a color. It'd be visible at a glance and wouldn't give away the contents to outsiders.

The devs recently admitted they are working on adding paper to the game, so that would be a nice way to attach 'post-it-notes' to a container.

I think the convenience of seeing the notes on mouse-over of a container is well worth it and doesn't present much of a security risk, if people are rummaging through your containers already they are going to find what they want fairly quickly with or without clues. Heck if your smart you could even try to trick them by labeling your treasure chest 'dirt and branches and other worthless stuff' no one would ever look in that

Since Signs are even cheaper than before, this should cause only a minor inconveniance.
You don't want people to know, what you are writing on a sign? use cryptograph.
