An easy way to get scents?

Had an idea, not sure if it works, but could be a pretty big ***** move if it does, and add an extra factor to trading.

Say you are selling an expensive item, and you want to get it back after, if you give it to a friend, then have them just put it in a container on their base and you "steal" it off their base, if the scent stays with said item, and sold to someone who does not have tracking on would it then be possible to follow that scent to the purchasers base? Just a thought.

It works but its more effort than its worth most of the time and if people start reporting that a trader is scenting their item some people will not trade with them. Also because defenses are currently powerful enough that it would probably not be worth raiding most people that have the extra silver to buy expensive items.
Also stop trying to be clever, you are bad at it, and learn to use the search button.
