The devs have said they want to make the game less of a harsh learning curve so that new players won't be repelled immediately, so that they will be able to get decently murdered through their own stupidity, not because they legitimately didn't know any better.
I think the real issue here is that before these updates began, you could say you were good at this game simply because you are here and have been for some time. With the sharp learning curve driving away most new players, just sticking around was enough to confer some prestige. You're mad not because this game is getting easier and safer (it really isn't), but because it's getting easier simply to get started on the lowest levels of gameplay and that is eventually going to draw in a whole new population of players, many of whom will be more likely to stick around than they were before so that you will become just another random, barely competent player among many. That is what upsets you.
Mereni, he seems to think that is Seatribe Vanilla-Beta. It simply isn't, nothing should be considered polished and fine tuned. The devs are always open for suggestion. If you don't like something Cawalox, formulate a solid argument and present it as to why you think change is in order. But throwing your hands up in the air, I quit isn't the way to go about it. There is immense heaps of content in the pipeline, so much I don't know how John and them sleep at night.
If you want to leave buddy, just to end up coming back(which you will), then go do that. You'll just have problems later down the road being farther behind, no infastructure, and raging over that next.
