I really like the dogs idea, it'd be great to be able to raise a puppy into a hunting dog to kill those pesky rabbits for you :)

omg I want a pet!!!!!! Pleeeeeeaaassseeeeeee! :D Our super cute town would look even better with a super cute puppy! hehe But in all seriousness, I think this is a great idea and very much in line with the concept of Salem. Someone mentioned glutton for them, and I like that too. Feed them to make them stronger. I also think it would be cool to have a couple of skills for them, so you can raise hunting dogs or guard dogs with different skill sets, and maybe even slight genetics. If two good hunting dogs can have puppies, maybe they start out with a small hunting skill or something.

Pets would certainly be a nice thing. Not on our roadmap at the moment though. Doesn't mean we will never get to it though, just probably won't be this year.

!!! YAY! I can wait. Salem is the first game that has kept my attention for more than a month in a looooong time, and it is evolving into pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a game. Now, if it can only be VR compatible.... ;)

Go for it.

Your your join date is more then 1 year ago, but you want the guy who just started playing and doesn't know jack to update the wiki?

Sure why not, I did when I first started playing. If you just try to make sure the info you post is as accurate as possible its fine, if some one gets something wrong some one else will come along and fix it. There is a lot that needs to be done on the wiki if people want it to be accurate they will need to help contribute. Also, even though its not used much each page has a Discussion page so if someone is not sure about the information that they want to add they can post on the discussion page and some one more experienced can come along and figure out if their data is correct.

I remember when I started adding stuff to the wiki, I got stuff wrong about half the time (it was more) and then spent the time to figure out where I went wrong and get the format and syntax right xD Pro tip, use preview, unless you like having every typo show up in the update list >.> I should take my own pro tip.

Also, with dogs, you can hitch them up to stuff and have them pull useful amounts of stuff (the bigger ones anyway) it's just that a mule or ox is going to be better at it.

You also have the basic distinction of "large dog, small dog" and dogs that do things like guard, or hunt, basically. Ideally I think 4 types of dog would be pushing it, so maybe you could have a small, fast dog that was also adequately noisy, but not very strong, to help with basic alarm features when people trespassed, and for hunting rabbits and crickets, but would be a waste to actually fight other players or large animals with because they would just get knocked out by animals and killed by enemy players. (Unless you WANTED to sick a rat terrier on someones ankles. Maybe being a nuisance or distraction that would certainly die would be worth it to some players?)

Then you could have a big dog, more suited to helping you hunt deer and bear (probably you want several for a bear) and actually providing meaningful contributions to home defense other than noise. (specially if you had several, which would be an investment, but hey. Having a pack of guard dogs to maul burglars is Fun. The variable threat is in my mind, a fun aspect. They might suck, or they might have really high humors and unceremoniously kill/subdue you until the Master gets back and deals with you. Some big dogs do that after all, just kind of sit on you or otherwise keep you in place until a human arrives.
