I hardly think saying it's imperfect qualifies as an argument against this idea.

This idea removes the options for alt-vaulting in boston, removes instant unlimitted item transfers trough teleports and preserves the ability to trade & move items en masse. It's much closer to the spirit of this game than the current system so I'd say it's well worth implementing.

Anything that automates trade is a bad idea and farther from the spirit of this game then the current system. Why do you think stalls where not implemented on this server.

Do be fair, stalls are coming back.

I know but hopefully they will be something better then the old vending machines.

What would you propose? As we were not overly angry with the old mechanics.

You should be able to buy and sell.

There should be more than 5 slots for both activities.

Buy feature sounds nice. More slots sounds too lenient.

I'm not sure what the best solution to implement stalls without turning them into the boring vending machines that they use to be. Automating trade reduces actual player interaction and the need for dedicated and trusted merchants.

True - maybe I don't want to be put out of a job.

On the other hand given the tax rates of the stalls there is still room for trusted traders so both parties can get a better deal by avoiding the tax. Maybe increasing the tax to 20 or 25% would help balance both sides of this debate.

You've talked about each town having one stall - is that still the case? It might be worth spamming bells just for more stalls if slots aren't increased.

On the other hand a few number of available stalls (not one per bell) would also keep the need for trusted traders around.

Game balance is hard.

Trusted traders are a very unique touch of this game.

Player reputation actually mattering is a nice thing. I reckon there is room to not make the transit things automatic, having to manually load the wagons back up would be the easiest way to accomplish that.
