How are you today ladies and gentlemen?

Are you having a good time? Do you think that the game is reviving? (The player base)

Yes.
Trust your enemies more than your friends. Your enemies will never betray you.

The game reached approx 200 Simultaneous users recently which had not occurred in awhile. So from a statistical standpoint I would say things are going as best as could be expected provided that we have only deployed a small fraction of what is necessary to restore the game to the glory it deserves.

Why did you remove the currently online count?

This was discussed in another thread. In short, I felt it gave an inaccurate representation to a new player as to the number of active players they could interact with in Salem. Given the large majority of players leave some level of persistence in the world when they log off (scents, leantos, bases etc.). It felt better to me to share how many players have been on recently than how many players are currently online.

I have to say I'm quite happy with the game at this state. I almost entirely gave up on it after I read some of your post on the forum, thinking that you're trolling people and the devs are not that caring to even prevent you from doing it. But after the first update, I can feel your love for the game.
I came to Salem while it was in beta, confused and misunderstood everything, so I stopped playing after a while and just check for forum dramas, hoping that one day I could get back to it, with more sense. But then the only sign I saw was the decline in player base days after days. I was hopeless for a long long time, thinking that it will be forgotten like Haven and Hearth. Thank you :)
I am also happy with the fact that our player base have mostly pvpers. Xsyon and Wurm online all fell into the PVE pit already, my only hope now is Salem.

It's pretty obvious he just wanted to bolster the server stats, he could have just as easily included ALL of that information but of course they decided to leave out the number that actually matters to anyone.

And I'm sure that it is a good thing to do. I don't have any problem with people doing regular marketing stuff. I don't usually demand the truth (or criticize people for not giving me "facts") from anyone either.

Neither do I so why doesn't he just say that? Why does he have to treat people like morons and go on saying, "I feel that the previous number did not accurately represent...blah blah blah."

Remind me not to come to you for answers regarding... well anything I suppose.
