I thought you couldn't claim an already claimed leanto. Am I mistaken?

He means put a pclaim underneath it. Placing a pclaim under a leanto does allow you to smash it.

Thanks.

While we are on the subject, can anyone explain to me how scenting objects works? I purchase things from merchants now and then and I understand there is a way they can place a scent on an item they are selling you then follow the scent?

If that is the case, then:

How do they do it?
How long does the scent last?
How do I circumvent this?

Thank you,

Ez

1) By stealing the item off any claim. Leaving a scent in the place it's stolen from that, amongst other things, has an option to track the item.
2) Not sure, however long larceny scents last.
3) You can't. There is no way to tell. However, I think logging out with an item stops it temporarily and processing it into other stuff will cancel the effect.
Your only option is to trade with trusted merchants and hope they don't do it.

One way to circumvent "hot" items is to alt vault the items on a character that never leaves Boston until the enough time has passed, which used to be 2 weeks I believe

Test it. make whit one character claim near boston. whit other character take 10 dear steaks from it. go boston and drop them to ground. watch who takes it. then go back to claim take scents and tell show stolen objects. And then try find that character who took your meet. + by taking stolen objects you arent in danger of summoning. in danger is only one who stole them.

I hope these unintuitive mechanics get fixed eventually. I know sieges will take hours so that may do it. The sale of stolen goods is something that is in need of a fix. At least make the items visibly marked or some way to turn in the goods to authorities I don't know.

Agree with all previous posts; but the biggest factor in my experience is proximity.

Build yourself up and then head out into Darkness... deep darkness where bile drain is significant.

Can Tribe find you then? Sure... but you will be so far from the 'action' that your existence will be an annoyance... not a threat.

Horses make it easier to cross distances but they can't be inventory (yet) and they can't climb... but just cross a mountain or three, a plateau...and you should be fine.

The deep is huge... the non-darkness is 20-25% of the total map..perhaps less.

Bile drain becomes noticeable around 51... where argopelters also start appearing...

Best advice is don't trust Frakked, brew, frost or whatever name he uses. He will sell you out.

This must be Embie's account....

How many times has Embrianna, Embie, Hope,... (should I list them all) been killed off... and how many times has Frost, Brew, etc... been killed off since the wipe?

HMMM? My Count is 2-0... you win Embie for toon deaths.

I think I know how to be a hermit better than you... on that basis alone.

As for selling out- you own your base to my generosity when I counted you a friend. I ported you in a 5 humor alt... you own most of your success... your lead lime 9%, your salt lime 8%, water etc... to my generosity when you were my friend... and when you proved you weren't... it was my privilege to expose such.

You think you've done better... love to hear about it.

Warned you this was coming
