Purpose of this subforum

I would like to provide some feedback about splitting up the old "looking for a group" subforum.

Since exisiting groups are outsourced to the new "Colonial Charter" none of our new members did find us by clicking through the forums. They all used the search mode which I think isn`t the way it should be. Outsourcing would make sense, if there is a distinction between groups searching for members and members searching for groups. Instead I often see threads like "Looking for a group to start new village" which doesn`t fit in any of those categories. Because of that new players are looking in the Planters&Pilgrims thread for existing groups and most of them don`t see the "Colonial Charter" subforum at all.

So I would like to see the old structure restored. I would also suggest to make existing groups a sticky thread in the planters&pilgrims thread as long as they post once in a week inside their thread to show that they are still active. If they are not active anymore the sticky should be lost.

not hard to see a sub forum. maybe recruit more intelligent people?

I think I have to agree a bit about being hard to see or a bit ambiguous as to the purpose. I think it'd be better as two subforums instead of a forum with a sub on it. That way players could see there's a "looking for village" section for players looking for a group to play with and a "looking for more" for established groups to advertise for recruitment.

this is probably the best way to handle it since shortly there will possibly need to be one of each of those subforums for separate servers

yes, they are working on separate servers, each server will be a different "colony" so to speak, and eventually one will be able to travel between them
