To me the prior knowledge of this bugs existence just goes to show that this was bug abuse. The dead character should rightfully have been restored and the bug abuser should be punished, regardless of if/when they reported it as in the end they still abused the bugs after the initial report. Reward the people who test without abusing the bugs.

The first time it happen was in the name of testing and purely unintentional, at that point you stop running your horse through walls and report it. Instead of stopping, you continue to run your horse through walls, but more importantly the walls of an enemy base. Setup a test claim or something on an extra account, don't test bugs like this by glitching into another players base and killing them.

The line between testing and abusing was blatantly crossed, so blatant in fact that it makes me question the legitimacy of some of the interactions in this thread.

I got my character back so I don't really mind. Obviously, I would welcome any punishment, but he did report the bug after all.

In this specific scenario I cannot see how the reporting of a bug prior to abusing it helps him in any way shape or form. At least with no prior knowledge it could be argued to have occurred accidentally.

Prior knowledge points to him heading to your base with the intent of abusing this bug to gain easy access to your base and kill characters/steal/break stuff.

You do have a good point. They seem to have known about the glitch previously. However, if JC were to kill PmP, the whining would be endless.

Plot Twist: JohnCarver and Ikpeip planned the whole thing, restoration of dead character and all, in order to help alleviate the concerns of certain individuals who have recently begun making the connections between MM Tribe and MM Inc. and casting doubt upon their credibility as developers where a certain faction might be concerned.

For the record, and from the time stamps of messages, it appears the bug was reported after the player bugged himself into the base. Secondary reports were received by the time I was notified he was inside, but had not yet been able to bug himself out. The completely novice use of the bug by taking out one player instead of multiples was enough evidence for me to feel confident this was not necessarily a pre-meditated action, but a poor choice of abusing that what was found almost immediately after reporting it in the first place.

Given that the previous regime most likely would have left the player in the claim to die, and restored nobody. I find it difficult to fault any party before it was readily apparent how these situations will be handled.

This is important, did you help him out? Or did he find his own way out?

JohnCarver wrote: but had not yet been able to bug himself out.

He just feared for his life, and used reporting it as an excuse to get out!?!?!?
His character should be dead. period.

I thought he pre warned you before even coming to the town, but if that is not the case, it was a merely a cry for help, and you should smite him.

I was fine with just the restoration of suffs characters, but this is an outrage, he clearly only reported it to save his own life. Because we surely would have descended upon him like a pack of wolves if he was truly stuck there.

see? give an inch they demand a mile.

in a week when this idiot dies for the 47th time to another "bug" (like him being his own spy getting his town destroyed) you will now have a half dozen pages of claeytesque retardation to contend with.

you are a 100% a b1tchmade b1tch darwoth.
