Isn't there a rule that if a team gets a certain number of red cards they automatically lose? Going by the quality of refereeing in this World Cup so far, I wouldn't be surprised if that rule got invoked.

3 Red cards. But you have pretty much lost after getting 2, or 1, even.
A single player can mean a huge difference in games on world-level.
