I think the unstoppable killing potential of a bomb that instantly kills cities wins.

If I recall History the Emperor surrender to Gen. Douglas MacArthur of the United States Armed Forces.

NOT

Soviet whoever.

The United Great Internet Waves of Radio AKA Murica, were the occupying power. Not Stalin. ¦]

And with the fall of Japan, the last star forever died, and the Old Order of the World was swept under the rug.

This is not really correct. According to the Japanese Instrument of Surrender they surrendered to the "Allied Powers", which, according to the text, included the USSR. Hence General Kuzma Derevyanko was also present and signed the Instrument aboard the USS Missouri (together with nine other Allied representatives). The representative of the USA was Chester Nimitz, while MacArthur was there as Supreme Commander of all Allied Forces.

The Soviets might have beaten the American to landing troops in Japan, so the Japanese picked the lesser evil.

I wonder why people are using double standards when it comes to usa :x

Nazi-germany were killing other races, they failed and entire world is talking how wrong it was!
While US killed almost entire race (and absorbed what is left from it) in North America, so they succeeded, but they are not called racist or fascist like Hitlers followers, why?

US as first country used biological (blankets against indians) and nuclear weapon against Japan and they are not even accused of genocide, how is that?
While Iraq for the mere (rumor) fact of having biological weapon was attacked by US and other countries :o

The two Nukes at Hiroshima and Nagasaki do not count as genocide, because they were dropped to force Japan to surrender, not to eradicate the Japanese people from the planet.

So what is your point? That countries start wars for no good reasons? Or that the USA start wars for no good reasons? Talking about double-standards...

The second nuke was a crime though, sort of.
The wapanese surrendered after the first, or tried to, but murrica just had to prove a point.
