Changes to Forum Rules

Postby TotalyMeow » Wed Jun 18, 2014 7:01 pm

After speaking with John Carver and the other moderators, I've decided to amend the rule regarding multiple accounts in the following way:

1.4b. Accounts made in mockery of another account or to impersonate or fool the community into believing they are that other account are forbidden and will be banned.

Such accounts will be permanently banned and if the original account can be identified, it will receive a temporary ban.

All current impersonation accounts that I know of will be banned now; the original accounts will not be punished as it was not against the rules at the time they were created. If you are being impersonated, you may send me one PM letting me know the name of the account that has been impersonating you, though I think my list is complete.

It was amusing for a while.

Personally I'd rather see one unique character name for each account so account names aren't seen, but that may be out of scope of this forum software. I'm not sure how well that would work with world wipes (since we are still technically in beta), though, and not having globally unique names.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.
