Riverton WAS fun, that was probably one of the bigger dramas on the server for a long time, and it barely made the forums

I also look at that as the end of my noob phase, I already knew game mechanics, now I had to think outside the box a little to get out and back in. Even with my political ability's I still couldn't figure out who I had to politic to get out, lol.

One of these days warbot will accidently log in here and read about the ***** that came out of the wake of him quitting :P

When I started playing Salem and got my first decent amount of silver from selling arrowheads/snake skins, I bought my first claim deed.
I started looking for a good spot to settle and forgot to turn off swimming. I drowned and lost all my stuff! That felt like **** around 3am after playing the game for 8 straight hours earning that silver

Oh ****, that reminds me of my first trip to the edge of darkness on Roanoke. I had been playing for about 3 weeks and I had just joined up with a few other players for the first time. It was during the "refunds for claims" when upkeep was first introduced. We were all preparing to declaim for the refund and form a town in darkness. I took on the responsibility to run an alt to the new area just on the edge of darkness to build a claim that we could port to (our characters still had Wilderness guide port available).

Once I got my alt "in the area" I bought the Writ of Homesteading in Boston and ported back to my lean-to. My first mistake was running away from my lean-to for a while looking for a really good spot. After walking for a several minutes I found a great spot and thought it would be a good idea to flatten a couple squares before putting down the claim. There were 3 problems that would make this my 2nd worst day in Salem a the time:

1. I was about 5-6 map tiles from my lean-to.
2. I was on the very edge of darkness drain on an alt with 6-7 humors.
3. I only had an axe.

I began to flatten the ground.....KO!
OMG! I freaked out.

As soon as I spawned back at my lean-to I realized that I was probably too far from my KO spot to get back and recover the Writ before it disappeared. I was determined to recover it anyway so I hit "wander" and tried to hurry back....not far from my goal...KO - again.

All this was happening as the other people in my group were waiting to port to my new claim. It was difficult to explain to them just how stupid I was being, so after trying to answer their questions of "Why would you do that?" I had to log out for a couple hours to figure out what my major malfunction was. I got the claim set up later that day and all was well, but I never talked to those guys again and moved to Plymouth after taking a couple weeks away from Salem.

Sadly, my dumbassery continues even to this day.

Naaaw dude, a couple of mistakes does not mold a person. Even if you indeed are an idiot, you still seem to be very self-aware, knowing what steps you've taken in the wrong direction and so on.

It definitely made a good story though!

There's a ***** to this game, even with long time playing friends that got me into it, I did most of all this. But that, by far, was the best lol I had off this thread yet.

My finest moment, keeping in mind this was around the time of the wipe announcement, I came to Boston to kill a bear, forgot my sword, and combat gear, thought, screw it in plenty high enough to fight a bear (in both ways) and charged him... So I'm bare knuckle boxing a bear in my pocket set. About 1/2 of arcadia standing there watching, and the effin' bear smokes me like I'm made of hash. So Latikai assists by looting my halberd...

Now, for a few days after that, about 5 times a day, a noob would wander into town "so who did you loot that from?". Normally I would say "common, I'll show you" and start walking north
