***** you could just kill off Tribe- root and branch and change nothing... and watch the server blossom and overfill in a few weeks.

Ability or stigma- Tribe is a population killer and has that reputation. Honest effort or bots- it really doesn't matter.

Almost every action you take will be measured on how Tribe rises and falls; best just get it out of the way and kill them off... then re-evaluate.

I can honor Tribe for their accomplishments...and I do. I don't agree with their politics, but they have achieved much in this diminished game.

However, if MM Inc want to go forward, want to grow population, you'd do well to get rid this anchor... lest it weigh you down forever.

Please shut up.

Please allow me to express my opinion.

I played on all 3 servers before the last wipe. I know what population was on Plymouth... and how many empty destroyed bases there were. How I found signs posted by Tribe stating wiped out owner hadn't paid tribute so they were destroyed. I didn't have to build my own base... I just had to sort through the dross to find one I like to take over. There were 100's.

That's potentially 100's of folks who bailed on this game...at a minimum because of Tribe. Folks who might come back if Tribe disappeared.

Most bases had many folks playing (check the archive for Tribe scalps... rows of dead)... many times 100... well get a calculator if you are uncertain.

Fact is Plymouth was a dessert...and Provident will be that again if Tribe is given free reign.

Jorb did that much for us before bailing- he made the map too big to conquer in a short time frame.

You telling me to 'please shut up' is like saying... please die so I can feel good about my choices in life.

Piss off.

Thanks for playing...

And yet, even though the map is about 5x bigger than all the three old servers put together, and even though the tribe is not as active as it once was due to the disappointing mechanics of this world, the population of this server is only in the 50s or so. It's not the Tribe, it's the mechanics; in truth, it's always been the mechanics because without the waste claims and the increased damage from braziers and all those other 'rebalancing' changes that helped us rather than hurt us, we would never have become as powerful and unstoppable as we were, and still are.

No, killing the tribe off won't do anything. It would be a temporary setback. Changing the game itself is the only thing that will... change the game.

As the game is today- purity grind is King; there's no avoiding it.

However, you can spend time exploring for purity resources which are rare; improving your metal/coppper quality by building new Mines, best silver is from Argo Trophys (find them under Wall paper once you learn Joinery)... worth 250s each, and finally mapping out your neighbors to salvage when they quit or fail to pay rent.

Or you can raid; salvage and kill others as is. However there are very stiff penalties for that atm... do some research before you leave scents.

Clearly you make so many of them that you have realised they are now only 125s, meaning that actually, bears are worth more, as they are much easier to hunt, and you don't need the boards.

You clearly know nothing about why the population is/was low.

I know nothing about previous server instances but I want to say that I totaly agree with the logic of this sentence.

This is not a board game where everyone is free to grab random pieces and throw them on the table without abiding rules. Salem is a video game, a machine controlled experience. A computer is there to enforce the rules of the game, the same rules that are a foundamental part in making a game fun.

Of course is multiplayer so a lot depends on the community but since it should also be Massively Multiplayer it is logical to expect that in a big group of people you will eventually find someone to play with whose style you can appreciate.

Whoever thinks, like me, that the current situation is somewhat flawed should try to promote a change in the game and not merely in the player base. It's just too easy to blame people. No matter the assortment of people that plays a game there will always be someone you will find annoying.

If the game wasn't so drastically unbalanced in favor of highly skilled characters and at the same time so unfair for the newbies the Tribe would just be a mere curiosity amidst the rest of the factions.
I was lucky...

Vets will never let it die... to our chagrin... and Tribe legend.

You kill off everyone else... but I suspect the number who hate Tribe...been run off by Tribe... is in the 1000's... while Tribe itself has never broke 100.

What? How would they "just kill off" the Tribe, as developers? And how would they prevent them from getting back to a position of power?

I think more people have quit this game before the Tribe rose to power than after, anyways.
