If you really want to see details on some of the scams, just stay up on the hot topics on the EVE forums in Crime & Punishment section. There's always a good story or two to read each week. There's also some good blogs that gather up the best stuff going on in the game as well as third party forums such as Reddit and Something Awful. (I recommend The Mittani's blog/news site. Great reading and well written.)
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.

I admit that I read this "Fake Claeyt" post no less than 3 times before realizing it was an imposter. The tires/triangle thing was too much and I cannot read it without LOLing.

Of course, CCP is an amazing company and very, very open with who they are unlike you guys.

I'm hoping that now that you know that Cleayt is impersonating Claeyt that you'll do the same thing that you did for Ikiep and ban the fake Cleayt account promptly.

Was it banned? Last I read TotalyMeow ruled she was going to let the imposter tribe person keep going as multi-accounts are no longer against forum rules. If she changed that rule I apologize I missed it. Either way, its her call and jurisdiction. I only get involved in moderation if I deem it an emergency like Porn spam etc. that cannot wait for the mod-staff to handle it if they happen to be offline at the time.

No, the rule hasn't changed; the account was banned for sockpuppeting. It and another account by the same person were conversing with each other in an attempt to make his scam more plausible. I'm currently considering whether or not to make 'player impersonation' against the rules as well, but haven't made a ruling yet.

2. Do not impersonate staff. Content which can be mistaken as official or otherwise cause similar confusion (such as posting with 'moderator green' text) is prohibited. Removal or editing of any Moderator alteration to a post is also prohibited. In addition, do not point out that another user is breaking the rules. Use the report function to report rules violations.

That is all I could find in the rules regarding this whole event. I do not see any rule which prohibits role-playing as other players.
