Is there a way for us to have limited api keys like in Eve?

I'm sure it's possible to fingerprint devices and/or IP's etc. However, I very much dislike that sort of thing. Just seeing a "Log in with facebook" button will make me lose ALL interest in a game, for example.

A better idea, in my opinion, would be to fix the core issue: ANY member of a town, no matter how new or low ranked, having the power to utterly destroy it.

By the way, this has absolutely nothing with HTTP proxying to do.

It is, in fact, not.

No, I am in fact not; it's actually just my personal IP address, but the point I tried to make by giving it to you is that it could just as well work as a proxy for someone else. I could easily set up Jorb's computer to work as proxy for me, for instance; or any else of the multiple computers around that I have more or less control over. The point I'm trying to make is that there's no principle difference between a "proxy" and any other computer.

True you can change any computer connected to internet into server, but most of the people can't do it, that is why they are using proxies from google :)
and there are easy ways to check it.

As for tracking players that wants to join your town you can do this, even if they are behind 77 proxies ;) but api giving away people IPs won't help in that.

One thing I remember from my A Level computing tutor:
Bob wrote:Anything that can be done in software can be undone in software.

Basically the point is that no matter how you try to stop people, even if you make it harder, if someone is determined to get around it, they will.

The way to solve the problem is via new game mechanics, god knows what they are but thats the way to approach it.
