You make a discussion thread for this series and than you ask us not to talk about it? I'll pass on this thread, thanks though.

I just meant obvious spoilers, but I see your point. lol

Although I did not make a discussion thread for the series, but for this related encyclopedic publication.

I won't give it away here, but it's going to be a badass finale this season. The Mountain is a beast, but the Viper of Dorne is pretty good with a spear. I'd say it's a pretty fair match, and the answer is actually more of a theological one. If you trust in the gods, right will prevail. If you believe the gods are just fairy stories, it's a pretty even toss up. ¦]

I doubt the trial by combat fight is the finale there are much bigger things that will happen.

The next episode will most likely be the trial by combat :)

True, I should have said "the wrapping up of each individual storyline, which tends to take place over the final three episodes." It just seems wordier that way. If you consider the previous season though, the more jaw-dropping finale took place in episode 9, and episode 10 was pretty tame by comparison. Personally, I count the last 2-3 episodes as the overall finale, like a fireworks show that doesn't end with just one firework, but a collection of the biggest and brightest.

Wrong. Books 4 & 5 will be 2 seasons, and book seven is actually more complete than book six, so he has plenty of time. I think at this point it's more him holding it hostage because of ******* fans pressuring him and criticising him for the time he takes to work on his books. I'd be pretty disgusted if he actually did rush his work to appease HBO and the viewers over himself. His work was doing just fine before the show, and if they split both entities tomorrow, he'd still sell as many books, and the show would still have as many viewers. Also, he's told D.B. and David how it all ends, just in case he should die or be unable to finish. He also has an insurance plan in place for the books (you know that lady he dedicates every book to, Parris?). He's also been on record saying if he's pressured any further, he's made lots of money from this series already, and he's previously established that there's a big red comet in the sky that he could easily bring down on everyone and everything in Westeros should we bug him enough.

I don't care if he takes forever on the books and I'm sure D.B. and David or Parris or whoever could write a 6th or 7th book for him if he dies but it wouldn't be the same.

As for the series, We're watching book 4 right now and they start filming book 5 this summer. That means he has to be done with book 6 by this time next year if they want to keep the series on schedule. If they have to postpone season 6 then so be it but I'm sure millions of dollars are on the line for HBO.

Spoiler alert

Actually I think episode 9 will be the climactic one. They have so much to tie up by 10. They haven't even touched the Iron Isles yet.

You should definitely read the books first. The series skips a lot of the little things. The books flesh out the world more.

Wrong. We're watching the second half of "A Storm of Swords" which is the 3rd book in his series.

Depends on what you think is climactic with out getting into the details, and the Iron Isles won't be touched this season.

It is known.

Also, books 4 & 5 follow the same timeline, but were split up geographically. Feast for Crows covers the events in King's Landing and the Iron Isles, while Book 5 covers Essos and the Wall.
