Would have been better not to say anything at all- your ignorance is shining brightly!

Goes for all your fanbois who jumped in without checking the facts. Loyalty is nice; but you did them no favors... cheers!

I find your comment reveals more about you and I. At what age do you quit thinking Mommy is everything? I stopped when I was 16... got to assume you are still a pubescent little boy... or worse a Momma's boy...

Or could it be Mommy doesn't trust you with her credit card... which is why you are stuck playing Indie games that cost nothing?

Pretty sad.

Good to know I won't have to put up with you elsewhere.

Silver lining in everything... didn't even have to look hard to see it.

What is insurance?
Pilots in Star Citizen can purchase insurance policies for their ships, modifications and cargo. This ensures that your ship will be replaced and/or its modifications and cargo will be subsidized should you be destroyed in a fight or accident. As in real life, insurance policies must be maintained: you must pay a regular fee in galactic credits (the in-game currency) or your policy will lapse and you will not receive a payout or a ship replacement when your ship is destroyed.

Can I use my insurance as an excuse to simply ram other ships to death knowing I will get my ship back?
You can.

Insurance is not hardcore.

Edit: From Star Citizen's FAQ

And it covers the basic ship... no special weapons, etc...

As for permadeath- it's true that you don't die forever immediately... but there are significant penalties... restarts are not unlimited.

Quote "To achieve this sense of a living history, there needs to be a universe where time progresses, characters die, and new ones come to the front. Beyond this, I want people to have a sense of accomplishment when they complete a really difficult trading run or kill an especially infamous pirate. I hate the current game trend in single player games where the game auto-saves every 2 seconds and if you die you just start a few steps earlier. This makes you a lazy and sloppy player. I bullied my way through games like Mass Effect or Gears of War, running in guns blazing, knowing if I died I would always just re-spawn a few steps earlier. In Wing Commander or Privateer, you had to complete the mission to move on. There were no mid mission saves. This created a sense of anxiety towards the end of the mission if you were badly damaged and your shields were low, but if you managed to limp home successfully, you felt a sense of accomplishment. Without the risk of losing something you’ve worked hard towards, the sense of achievement is cheap.

Two weeks- you might be rid of me at least part time...

Cheers..

PS- Imagine if Jorb had this kind of Dev Team to support him... what Salem could be like... oh well.

If Jorb had a dev team this large Salem would only be 5 times better than this lame space game. Instead, it is only twice as good.

Because you have 1/100th the competition? or could it have been 1/1000th... at which point Tribe could have been 1 of 1000 bad ass groups vying for supremacy.

Rising to the top of that list would have been noteworthy... but of the dross who are still around today?

It wasn't Tribe supremecy that drove folks away from the game... it's was Jorb's candid admission that Haven and Hearth was his focus and Salem was taking a back seat for a while.

Get your facts straight before you speak.

Wow- you really set your sights low. Tribe is a hardened... last man standing and all that... but what you accomplish here of the few who remain is hardly achievement.

Jorb screwed us all; but he screwed you the most. Any victory Tribe has now will be shallow indeed.

Wow, Frakked, learn to copy and paste or something. Multiposting is for children.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here because we've been saying this since the purity change in the last server.

The tribe has actually done it's best in many ways to encourage players to stay around. We like to raid and pvp and kill people for their loot, yes. That's a big part of what the game is about, and many would do it if they could. And that's what the treaty is about. It gives players a way to not be attacked by us and actually protects them from attack by anyone else who might challenge the tribe, as well. There just, sadly, hasn't been a viable challenge since the purity nerf tanked the population.
