It actually has Guild bases you can take over and use as a guild. They've talked about Housing later as an expansion.

Wait.
lols
They are working with adding build system of houses and some building .Like you can have own house as was in All Elder Scrolls.
And that is pretty nice ,own house, much more quests, big world, perfect crafting system.
Enjoy)

Technically, the launch is April 4th. Feel free to "pre-order" now and get in the early release bonus time. (When you're primary method of selling the game is through your own website, is a 5 day early head start for pre-orders really a pre-launch bonus other than the 5 days free for the first month?)

Not really worth the price tag unless you're a hardcore TES fan or have guildies playing.

I expect it won't stay P2P for long, it has some interisting moments here and there, like a quest where you are supposed to seek a treasure by deciphering a note with directions, but all in all - meh.

why the swtor hate.. i didnt think it was that bad... certainly not the worst mmo ive ever played. The dialogue was interesting, and I enjoyed the pvp

Just so people understand what the PvP is like in ESO. Everybody's comparing it to Guild Wars 2 but better.

Here's a video of 'Angry Joe's' review of the ESO PvP.

Here's a recording of the largest battle on any mega-server so far. There are 2000 people per mega server and this battle had over 800 of them from all 3 factions at once.

Ok, I do agree with that.
I think, however, that swtor could have been much much more, than a generic single-player wow/eq clone.
It's probably an okay game for someone, who has never played an mmo before though.

I was in the internal ongoing beta from around July on. They did very little listening to us on what needed to be fixed and what needed to be changed. I did not buy the game. After playing it for months It got boring really quick. Unfortunately it has no lasting appeal and is nothing like Elder scrolls games. As for PVP? It is mostly a zerg fest, big groups going in a big circle capturing and recapturing keeps etc. Pretty mind numbing.
