Today I killed my first bear

Postby Iota » Tue Apr 01, 2014 12:55 am

Today a bear, tomorrow the world!

Ps. I liked bears more when they didn't fight back.

I also died twice before killing it but I feel that's irrelevant.

I remember this!

I remember Boshaw suggesting me to kill the first bear I saw way-back-when in the days of super-closed alpha. I thought he was just trying to get me killed. :(

Bears are very easy to kill if you know how they can make attack.)

I still take a lot of damage from time to time from silk-runners with their web-attack-5-hits-combo. Don't know how to avoid this exept using natural covers.

I've had a silk runner go full MachineGun mode with their web before. Shot 11 of them before tiring out.

I love how silk runners shoot webs post mortem, when you one shot them with a thrust without getting aggro first

Yeah, it's like they aggro the instant before the thrust hits them. I always kill them that way too. Just dance around them until I can land a stab without getting aggro first. 40 YB seems to be the cutoff for a one shot kill.

I will share with you 'the South Park way to hunt bears'...

But first, a reminder : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6HwivfozIQ

Do not underestimate turkeys...

So it's easy : you get 3 or 4 turkeys with you (in your inventory) and drop them when bear is aggroed. Turn around the beast and wait that it roars (area effect) this way turkeys will be aggroed. Now you've got few pets fighting for you. You only have to thrust it as fast as possible. And the nice part is that turkeys do not die, so if they are all KOed, you only have to pick and drop them again on the battlefield. ;)
