How many times does it need to be said that the server status page shows unique IPs. Population did in fact drop.

Says who?
I can confirm that is not the case.

It has always been said it was unique IPs. If I'm wrong I really would like to know. If loftar is your only source then hopefully he sets the record straight for everyone. People are on both sides of the fence on this subject.

Everyone can test it. All they need it 2-3 accounts and some spare time. I tested it with original client and it seems that the users numbers depend on the number of account that are logged in the game, youll see the number raise when you log in and it drops when you log out (now its not exact because your not the only one on the server but it seems that it has to do nothing with the IP). I am not going to make a video of me doing it but it would be nice if one of devs could confirm this.

Yeah things are retarded at the moment.
As Darwoth has made clear, the game mechanics are ***** in many ways, but the ones bothering me most personally are definitely the OP defenses and the ruined gluttony. In the last world, defenses were less OP and characters capable of raiding were far easier and faster to make, and even then there was so little raiding and pvp. It was all infiltrations and partying, summon kills bla bla. Lame. Now the risks are even higher and the cost of losing a character far greater, what can we expect to happen?

It is hideously imbalanced and needs to be fixed.
If we could make strong characters reasonably quickly by working hard and cleverly, i think we'd see a lot more interesting action.

Ah i was under the assumption that you actually spoke to them instead of testing in such a unreliable manner.

Please don't fix OP defenses by merely nuking them.

Merely nuking defenses is just going to make the game exactly like it was before the wipe, but with a gluttony timer / reason to actually cook different foods. One step forward, two steps back.

Actually adding more mid-end game content is the better path forward. In their words, the whole reason Jorb and Loftar wanted to redo gluttony etc... is that they thought it would make future additions to the game more meaningful.

In no particular order here are ways to add content that would lower the OP of current defenses.

Add hard to find + slot clothing artifacts that reduce damage from brazier fire or increase speed of wall/brazier destruction.

Add wells with with pure water higher than 10% pure to allow for somewhat faster biling in the 100+ range.

Add brick walls, Iron + Copper Walls, and then Cannons for seiges. (Shameless plug for my idea about only buying cannons in London.)

Other random thoughts

Why do you torment us with corn recipes but no corn?

One benefit of a bigger map is to prevent horses from being OP - where are horses and other domesticated animals?

there will never be a solution for this game, because of the magic word: permadeath... even when you build "warriors" you tend to think twice before punting them at risk...

The game Rust is very exciting because people only lose equipments, but you keep your character, so there's still a lot of fighting and a moderate risk...

If Salem buffs defenses, no one raids, everyone eventually gets bored... If they buff raiders, one group eventually rules the whole server and everyone stops playing when they get stomped to dust... the middle ground will tend to boredom too because permadeath makes people not want to put effort into anything pvp...
