Same here. Saw many wells before fix and dont see them now. I assumed its higher ql water and i need better dowsing ( or dowsing dont work with wells and only wand do ?) to see them.
BUT after finding today new well with 1% wand i ended with perfectly 0% (all stats are 25.0) water.
Now im confused and dont know what to think: 1) either all wells have 0% water (but why i dont see them all with wand ?) 2) am i doing something wrong and wells work in different way ... ?

This is exactly my thoughts, I fully accept the lack of detection of iron mines as the purity of the detector matters, but for the wells which have no purity, why are the dozen or so that I had previously seen, no longer detectable by a 1% woo woo wand?

Perhaps the nodes themselves are set up with purity? After all, jorb had no trouble turning all the mines on Salem to 0% no matter what they Should have been. Maybe wells just convert to 0% when they are built?

Most likely this.
Perhaps devs made purity water spots so they don't have to change prospecting mechanics or to use it in the future. And for now wells produce unpure water

You are not alone. It's like pulling teeth most of the time, though. You can try a pm or track them down in IRC.
