How do you feel about the new map expansion?

The map was already too big before today's addition.

It doesn't, but it would prevent you from making that new pclaim your homestead. So if you destroy your leanto while you have a criminal debuff, you'll be without homestead until the debuffs go away.

I think everyone screaming for the cause of the weak and powerless, the casuals and the new players, need to realise something.

There used to be a functional system where you could hire a ranger, or group, to take care of somebody for you. Some people will track someone for 45+ minutes, or several hours if need be, for silver and for glory.

Alternately you could join or form an alliance of towns/hermitages and carve out a place on the map of your own.

Thanks to the map this is no longer the case. Rarely will a base hit require more than a dozen or so scents to be left. A dozen scents will provide 2 hours of tracking. The map can now take 36 hours of STRAIGHT wander from one corner to the other. This would mean you would need to collect 216 Charges of Crimes to track somebody down. Nobody leaves 216 Crimes in a single place. Therefore, the map alone has completely destroyed the tracking system.

I personally think its hilarious that nobody will ever even FIND the real chief's vault now, however, its unfortunate for the player-base that would have actually stood a chance to counter-attack if the map didn't get f*cked up.

Did they break pointers over long distance somehow? You can just track from the scene and track from Providence to get the general area.

Nope. A Triangulation will only get you a 20-40 Hour area to canvas if hte person is even half as far as the PREVIOUS map expansion. And as mentioned before even if you KNEW where to run (to the nearest 3 hours) you could never actually get there before scents expired.

Lean to in the general area, walk to the scene of crime, teleport home, track until it runs out, build another lean to and repeat the whole thing till you get there. That's a LOT of walking, though.

Yes... assuming they are on opposite corners. And you have a VERY generous 4 hours of scents. Your adventure would look like this.

*Run 4 hours in direction you estimate from Providence.
*Make Leanto, Run 15 Hours to scene of the Crime to gather new scents.
*Teleport Home Run 4 hours closer to target.
*Make Leanto, Run 15 Hours to scene of the Crime to gather new scents.
*Teleport HomeRun 4 Hours closer to Target
*Make Leanto, Run 15 Hours to scene of the Crime to gather new scents.
*Teleport HomeRun 4 hours and REACH the target on your 16th hour of tracking from Prov.

Thats a grand total of: 61 Hours of Game-play to FIND your target. Now, tell me Potjeh. How many people can you name that will spend 61 Hours on Salem in the few days before scents expire to see somebody get murdered :). This system allows the Tribe and the Tribe alone to utilize tracking.

No, if it wasn't fixed from ply times it is possible to do this very fast, all you need is silver and alt with murder :)
