Not if you eat the correct foods. I time my feast perfect for sleep, work and studying.

Have to agree here.

I glutton twice a day, at night (around now) and in morning before bed.

I tend to give myself a 6-10h debuff at night then in the morning i try to max it out, normally setting myself up with a 12~ hour debuff.

Yes i have some downtime, however even with my current 55~ all biles, why i am online and active, i can still gain 1 point per hour with micromanagement and 5% purity foraged foods.

same here. I have been playing hardcore lately but when I slow down, I plan to make enough food to last me a week during the weekends and then log in to glutton every 12-15 hour. :)

Unexpected RL stuff happens all the time. A casual player, unlike a hardcore one, won't say to his coworkers that he can't go have a beer with them after work because he has to feed his MMO character.

Why would he do that?
I'm not sure I get your point. Do you expect that casual player without any playtime schedule should be able to gain biles just as fast as a hardcore player?

Not just as fast, but skipping scheduled playtime shouldn't be a complete loss either. Keeping to a strict schedule isn't something casual players do, they play when they feel like it, not when the schedule dictates they must. They should still be able to advance at a reasonable (but still slower) pace.

Even in my original idea they won't gain biles at same rate, because hardcore players can get better food and eat small portions of food with lower timers with makes them levelup faster.

They can still do.
If RL stuff comes up and they can't play then they can't grow biles either. Hard to expect them to advance when they don't play.
Sure, we may have it with inspiration.

And, while we are at it, for casual players it should be inspiration and skills that matters, not biles. They don't have much use from biles - you need those mostly for PvP after reaching certain level.

You need them mostly for defending your town or claim Sir!
Unless you like game when during raid most people just turn off game and come back after few hours?

If you play 4h in a single session you're going to get orders of magnitude less biles than if you play for half an hour every 12 hours for 4 days. A casual player plays like the former, a hardcore one runs his alts like the latter.

And casuals need some PvP capabilities too. If they're going to get effortlessly dispatched by griefers without exception, there's no sense in them playing at all.

Well, I kinda do get your point and gluttony sometimes feels like those facebook games where you have to pop in every 30 minutes and click something.
Still, I don't think I would like to have gluttony work like inspiration or use a hunger mechanic from HnH. Which was pretty annoying and people repeatedly plowed the ground just to increase hunger.

I really don't get what's bad about gluttony working more like inspiration. Consistency is generally a good thing in game design.
