Graphics glitching and crashing

The problem is this:

This usually happens within a few minutes after starting the game. Sometimes the glitching may be smaller and less "in-your-face", so that I may be able to keep playing for a maximum of 10-15 minutes or so, after which the game closes itself without any error message. The crashing may occur much sooner too.

My specs are as follows:

Intel Core i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz
16 Gb RAM
Nvidia Quadro 600
Windows 7 64-bit

My graphics card drivers are up to date.

Does This only occur in my client, or do you have the same problem in ender's or the default client?
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Having similar issues frequently (not everytime though). Did you find out the root cause?
I'm using java 6 update 27 (32 bit)
Intel Core i7 3520M @ 2.90GHz
8GB DDR3
NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (driver date 1/24/2014)
Win7 x64
Confirmed, it happens with default client too.

I shan't bet on it, but it looks to me like hardware trouble. Are you sure your RAM is error-free and that your GPU is properly cooled?

I checked my RAM with Windows Diagnostic tool and didn't get any errors.

I also checked the temperature of my GPU. On idle it's around 50°C, and during Salem it gets slightly above 70°C, so it doesn't look like that's the cause of the problem either.

Your GPU on idle is almost able to cook eggs on it.

Yeah, I'm aware that the video card is a piece of crap, and I've been thinking it's probably the cause of all this. However, I use this computer mainly for work, so I'm not sure if I'm ready to replace the video card just because of Salem. I actually have a gaming rig too, which runs Salem fine, but it would be amazeballs if I could run it on this other computer too.

And yeah, the card is already a bit old, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it old school... I believe it was released around 2010-2011 or something like that.

As far as I know, 50°C should actually be pretty normal. Correct me if I'm wrong.
