Even if off-claim braziers don't affect the damage, you could still build some empty ones on claim to significantly reduce the full one's damage.

you can't build anything on a Pclaim or Vclaim you don't have permissions for.

no it was all pretty technical so it was him I think. He didn't troll me at all just gave me numbers and other tech details. He said 40, I'm almost positive. It would be easy enough to test I suppose.

Here is last year's discussion on brazier damage, for use as a comparison and stuff

It says that the damage from brazier spam is CAPPED at 15 braziers worth of damage, ie 2.5x15=37.5bb maximum damage. I have nfc how many braziers it would take to achieve 30+ bb damage, but I'm sure somebody could figure it out.

Hint: it is a lot more than 15 braziers.

It's 60. I couldn't figure out why my math wasn't working out when I realized what I was doing wrong and it took me all of about 15 seconds to solve. To calculate a damage threshold you want to break, use:

Tdmg / n >= 2.5/( 1 + n/15)

Divide the total damage by number of braziers you need to get the damage equal to a single brazier.

Seriously, is this the way we want this game to go? This right here seems broken to me. I could work the whole thing out on a spreadsheet, but the graph is pretty obvious in my head. I do realize this might be a temporary fix to a longer term one that may be much more difficult to implement (such as only allowing a brazier so many sq meters).

37.5 was the cap back when we had legacy stuff and characters with hundreds of biles.
And to achieve this kind of damage you needed dozens of braziers.

And here, in the world of 70 biles even 1 brazier can do this kind of damage. And if you properly space them out then you might even get 200 (probably)?

I am aware that hundreds biles chars will be available, just much later.

I would really love jorb to come here and properly explain the mechanic, instead of having to rely on some IRC logs.
Especially that it's so hard to test it yourself - with limited inspiration it's hard for me to get waste

it seems that 112.5-150.0 (3-4 braziers @ 100% each) is the most reasonable expectation. But again, let's remember that raiders can regenerate humors during Crime! Looking at the numbers, I wonder how a raider with less than 500 BB could remain in firing range long enough to disable even 1 brazier.

Champie just posted that 15 braziers did 60 damage if all in range in the old world right above. Technically if you had a full map full of braziers all in range, you could have gotten pretty high last world.

They can always just tweak the base damage up or down if they wanted to fix the amount at a later date. Remember the MAX damage is 40 unless the attacker hits a spot with more than one brazier group hitting her. That's actually much less than last world in most cases.
