I would still count it as a bug, because this is something that promotes spamming defenses contrary to the update's intention.

Not when you can surround your brazier with trees, Metal Chests and other "hard-to-destroy" objects.

Err, you dont need to spam braziers, but ya you need to protect your braziers.

What does the location have to do with it now?

What happens when one brazier that is built next to another one is able to shoot you, but the other one cannot reach you?

I assume the "clustered defenses" means all the braziers in range to shoot at you.
It's much simpler solution to code than to calculate for each brazier how many others are nearby and how much should damage be reduced.
Not to mention that it would mean total damage could be higher than 1 base damage if braziers were spaced out properly.

But still it's better to do both - spam well protected braziers.

I hope jorb or loftar can come here and clarify a bit.

If brazier-critical-shot is still there we should still spam brazier to have more chance to crit shot!
But for new bases we need only few braziers, I wonder does their activation range is changed now...

It doesn't work that way. One brazier has as much chance to crit or damage humors as 10 braziers firing at once do.

I know about dmg, but where it is said it works same way about crit? Does Jorb confirmed it somewhere?

I thought he had, not long after the addition of crits, but I cannot find it in a search. Perhaps just personal experience telling me this. Hmm...

If someone who has tested the new system could post about how it works I think there would be a lot of us who would appreciate it. Specifically if the N is determined by the amounts for braziers firing at you at any one time or the amount of braziers that are clustered in one small area, in the latter case that would mean that how you construct your defenses is now much more important then it was previously, the former merely that braziers were nerfed.

I made this after talking with Jorb for a bit about how it works.
