Skullpins

Has anyone found out what they do for feeding?

they say +25 to gastronomy, but they don't influence the debuff length (neither initial length from eating nor the speed at which it drains), and they don't influence the value of the events as far as I can tell.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Like woodworking it reduces that craft/work speed.
It seems to make cooking quicker.

Yeah, they're poorly named. Should have been called 'culinary' or something similar as they help your cooking skills, not your eating ones.

It's disappointing because this implies to me that the devs aren't planning on any artifacts that are Really for eating.

Loftar: Hey look Jorb! I thought up this new artefact! It increases the chance of planing boards!

Jorb: Well ***** you. How many times do I need to say. DO NOT MAKE ANYTHING THAT IS ACTUALLY USEFUL TO OUR SUBJECTS. Idiot. Now, delete that, and make a crappy item that makes you saw slightly faster.

Loftar: yesssss masssster
Now playing Salem: the Tamagochi MMO.

truth be told, the woodworking speedup is very nice for coal clamps and timber piles. Four skullpins will halve your block/board cutting time.
