Splitting hay

Postby Scilly_guy » Tue Feb 25, 2014 7:03 pm

I am sure this has been mentioned before, I did try searching for split+hay and even just hay on its own, which doesn't find anything.

Quite simply I don't see why we shouldn't be able to split hay back into 5 autumn grass.

Hmmm..

Should we then be able to combine 2 wood scraps into a log, warped board, etc ?

Item's have one direction to go... either to combine into something else... or to be cut down into smaller pieces...

Both ways sounds nice... put it into suggestions...

Minecraft is like this for many items, for storage purposes. I'm really not sure though, why I'd need that much grass that I'd be willing to go to the trouble of making a bunch of hay and then not just use the hay.

When you live a reasonable walk from grassland and want grass for making wort baked wort bite or whatever, it be handy to carry ten grass in 2 slots, I can't think of any other reason for this. But I also can't see it being that hard to add, and almost impossible to abuse. As for your analogy that you should be able to recombine wood chips into logs that is completely different, the fibres of the wood have been physically broken when the block was split, when you combine grass into hay all you're doing (IRL) is drying it (which we don't in game) and bundling it together, you can easily redivide that into grass for use as... grass.

Thanks a lot Scilly_guy... next update we'll have to dry grass for 3 days on a drying frame before it will be usable...
