I haven't even thought about, but yeah, having the "alarm" applied to every bell in the range seems fair.

It should start increase silver drain after few (8 or 16) hours not instantly after waste claim is up, so defenders can have some time to gather and prepare for siege?

Well, the time needed for waste claim to become active could be lowered. Defenders should be able to check town bell for number of "alarm" stacks, so the first few hours of waste claim's activity could be used to prepare for combat. And because of that I'd rather have those first few hours have smaller impact on the silver drain. Thus the percentage increase instead of flat silver prices.

and I would add something... people shouldn't be able to build or repair anything outside of town claim, so raiders wouldn't be able to fortify waste claim totem.

Well, first, it can be a way to grief - put a waste claim near a bunch of newbie camps and suddenly newbies can't do a thing.
Second, if attackers erect defenses then they are in the same position as defenders - both parties have a base they want to defend and both want to destroy enemy base.

I mean does raider town silver rate is increased after they dropped waste claim? Not multiple towns in waste claim range.

This or increase town bell upkeep bar, so it could hold lots of silver.

Well that is not so simple :)

This idea is a lot different from the original post. You should start a new thread for it. Seems to me like it does have the possibility of creating the effect you want, getting people to actively defend.

I think the waste claim should have a time limit as well added to it to prevent griefing and stalemates where attacker can't destroy the town and defenders can't destroy the claim from lasting forever and forcing people just to abandon their town. Say a week.

Also perhaps the trail by fire's area of influence should be reduced to make it easier for defenders to reach it, or perhaps the range could be dependent on another factor like silver or oiled boards.

Braziers under the influence of the waste claim should also decay over time so if the attackers can guard it long enough it will slowly cripple the defenders defenses.

So defenders would not only lose silver but also iron? Cmon then how much raiders should pay for single waste claim totem 10k silver?
I liked Procne idea about lower braziers fire power under waste claim over time, so longer you wait easier it will be to get inside. But after waste claim is gone braziers fire power should be restored to 100% without need of wasting iron to repair them.

And I realy think that structures on waste claim, but outside of town claim shouldn't be able repairable.
Unless we want to swap roles and raiders are going to camp under fortified totem walls and town defenders are going to bash it and try to avoid stomps over walls.

Defender's don't need to pay anything. The waste claims drains from the attacking town. I think I already pointed this out to you once before.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I think you are talking about different things. Darnok meant silver cost resulting from "alarm" effect originating from the idea being discussed.

Precisely, I am talking about your idea not about current mechanic :)

Building upon this idea perhaps have a city wide decay rate applied to it as in most sieges the longer it lasts the worse off the infrastructure becomes and has to be repaired. It could be applied as a intensity field of sorts the closer the waste claim is to the town the stronger the effect and walls become more susceptible to it then crates.

Another one i thought of, probably been mentioned why does it have to be a waste totem but a cannon that has a setting time, unmovable though but once ready can fire once and blow out a chunk of the walls. That way if its only a small siege so 1 cannon you reinforce the area its most likely to be aimed at or when multiple cannons are built your pretty much screwed as in any siege if u have cannons firing on all sides of your base you are going down.
